At the end of February 2026, EID participated in the Validación, Verificación y Confirmación Nacional (V2CN) 2026 exercise, held in Madrid, Spain, supporting interoperability testing between Portuguese and Spanish military systems within the Federated Mission Networking (FMN) framework.
Two EID representatives, Edgar Lopo and Gabriel Cruz, joined a Core Services Team composed of 10 military personnel and two representatives from the national defence industry, contributing their expertise in defence communications and mission network capabilities.
The V2CN exercise brings together military teams from Portugal and Spain to test and validate the interoperability of deployable systems and mission networks, in line with NATO standards and procedures. These activities are essential to ensure that allied forces can securely share information and operate together in multinational operational environments.
For EID’s representatives, the exercise was also a valuable professional experience, providing an opportunity to strengthen technical skills, work in a demanding operational environment and collaborate closely with multinational teams.
Through its participation in exercises such as V2CN, EID continues to support the development of advanced defence communications, interoperability and mission network capabilities, contributing to stronger cooperation between allied nations and to the operational readiness of NATO forces.
