EID is once again participating in CWIX 2026 (Coalition Warrior Interoperability eXploration, eXperimentation, eXamination eXercise), one of NATO’s most important interoperability exercises, currently taking place from 8 to 26 June.
Bringing together NATO nations, partner countries and industry representatives, CWIX provides a unique environment for testing, validating and improving the interoperability of military systems, services and operational procedures. The exercise plays a key role in ensuring that capabilities from different nations can operate effectively in coalition and multi-domain environments.
Supporting the Portuguese Armed Forces
For decades, EID has supported the Portuguese Armed Forces through the development and delivery of advanced communications and Command & Control (C2) solutions designed to meet demanding operational requirements.
Through its participation in CWIX 2026, EID is supporting both the Portuguese Army and the Portuguese Navy in the assessment and validation of capabilities aligned with NATO interoperability requirements and the Multi-Domain Operations concept.
The company is providing deployable C2 systems designed to ensure effective situational awareness and interoperability with other Federated Mission Networking (FMN) participants. This enables military forces to exchange information efficiently and operate within a common operational framework alongside allied and partner nations.
Validating Interoperable Capabilities
A key objective of EID’s participation is to demonstrate its ability to implement solutions aligned with the FMN framework and to validate their performance in a realistic multinational environment.
The participation of EID’s engineering and technical teams reflects the company’s commitment to delivering trusted solutions capable of supporting modern operational challenges and coalition operations.
Looking Ahead
As military operations become increasingly interconnected, interoperability remains essential to mission success. The experience and knowledge gained through exercises such as CWIX contribute to the continuous evolution of EID’s solutions, ensuring they remain aligned with operational needs, NATO standards and future capability requirements.
By participating in CWIX 2026, EID reinforces its commitment to supporting the Portuguese Armed Forces and contributing to the development of secure, resilient and interoperable capabilities that strengthen cooperation across the Alliance.
EID wishes the Portuguese Armed Forces, NATO partners and all CWIX 2026 participants continued success throughout the exercise.
