As EURONAVAL 2026 continues in Paris, EID is bringing its naval communications expertise to one of the leading international events for the maritime defence industry.
The demands placed on modern naval forces are evolving. Increasingly connected platforms, complex operational environments and the need to share information securely across different domains make reliable communications and interoperability essential to naval capability.
These challenges are at the heart of EURONAVAL 2026 and closely reflect EID’s areas of expertise.
Supporting the next generation of naval operations
Under the theme “Next-Gen Hybrid Navies: Securing Information Superiority Through Advanced Connectivity”, EID is highlighting its experience in secure communications, interoperability and Naval Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I).
At the exhibition, visitors can discover a selection of EID’s technologies and capabilities, including ICCS, SEF and MMHS.
At the centre of this portfolio is ICCS (Integrated Communications Control System), EID’s latest-generation naval communications system. Designed to manage and control a ship’s internal and external communications, ICCS7 provides a secure and resilient environment, bringing together different communication domains and security classifications while meeting national and NATO requirements.
Its relevance is reflected in current naval programmes. EID is implementing the complete C4I communications solution, including ICCS7, aboard the Portuguese Navy’s NRP D. João II. The multi-purpose vessel represents a new generation of naval platforms, designed to undertake a broad range of missions and operate unmanned equipment.
EID is also presenting its expertise in military messaging through MMHS (Military Message Handling System). Designed for secure information exchange in defence environments, MMHS supports interoperability between NATO nations and enables the handling of messages according to specific security, integrity, delivery and precedence requirements. Its capabilities include compliance with Federated Mission Networking (FMN) requirements.
A broader naval perspective through Cohort Group
EURONAVAL is also an opportunity to demonstrate the value of the collaboration between companies within Cohort plc, the international technology Group of which EID has been part since 2016. This collaboration is particularly relevant in a sector where communications, surveillance, situational awareness and underwater capabilities must work together to support operational effectiveness.
At Stand E44, EID is exhibiting alongside Chess Dynamics, ELAC SONAR and Systems Engineering & Assessment (SEA). Each company brings its own specialist expertise, creating a broader perspective on the technologies supporting modern naval operations.
Representing Portuguese defence industry alongside AED
EID is also present at the AED – Portuguese Defence Industry Association stand (K100), with members of its team available throughout the exhibition. AED plays an important role in the company’s institutional context and in representing the interests and capabilities of Portugal’s defence industry. Its presence at EURONAVAL provides an additional opportunity to highlight Portuguese technological expertise, strengthen industry connections and reinforce the visibility of national companies within the international defence community.
Strengthening a longstanding relationship with the Portuguese Navy
Among the highlights of EID’s participation has been the visit of Admiral Sardinha Monteiro, Superintendent of Material, and Admiral Marques da Costa, Director of Ships, of the Portuguese Navy, to the EID stand.
The visit provided another opportunity to welcome representatives of one of EID’s longstanding partners and to highlight the company’s continued contribution to the development of naval communications capabilities. EID’s relationship with the Portuguese Navy is built on decades of technical cooperation and experience across demanding naval programmes. This partnership continues to evolve through new projects and the development of capabilities designed to meet the requirements of current and future naval platforms.
Conversations that move the industry forward
Beyond the technologies on display, EURONAVAL provides an important opportunity to meet customers, partners, industry representatives and other stakeholders from across the international naval defence community. During this days, the EID team has been welcoming visitors, exchanging perspectives and discussing the challenges shaping the future of naval communications and connected operations.
We would like to thank everyone who has visited our stand and taken the time to meet with our team. We also extend our thanks to our Cohort Group colleagues for their collaboration throughout the event, and to AED for welcoming EID into its exhibition space.
