Today, we have the pleasure of talking with Henrique Afonso, EID’s Business Development Manager, and one of the pillars of our team. Henrique’s inspiring journey offers us a unique perspective on the growth and success of EID over the years.

1. To start, we would like you to tell us a little about your journey here at EID. How would you describe your career path and the milestones along the way?

This is the third time I have worked at EID, and it will soon be 25 uninterrupted years, in addition to the 11 years from the two previous periods.
I have been part of software development teams and I can say that there are several subsystems operating worldwide that have a part of me. In the year 2000, I began activities related to business management and development, which is essentially what I currently do. The EID team has had a path of smooth, sustained, and solid growth, accumulating an enviable record of references that honour and humble us internationally.

2. You had a particularly significant experience when you were in the company’s office in Indonesia. Can you share a little about that experience and how it influenced EID’s work on the global stage?

Indeed, I launched the EID office in Malaysia, which later moved to Indonesia. This presence was crucial for us, as it allowed us to reinforce our position in Southeast Asia, that saw two new Navies using EID’s solutions. We successfully used the support of the diplomatic network of the countries where we intended to start or increase business to work on developing new growth opportunities. We maintained this approach which allowed us to continue to expand our approach globally.

3. How do you see EID responding to the increasingly demanding market challenges?

EID, throughout it’s 40 years, has had to transform and reinvent itself, always striving to be on the forefront of innovation. This is still a core value and we continue to adapt to continue to optimize our response to clients and partners. This is our part of our philosophy. We will continue to position ourselves as a credible supplier of innovative solutions in the field of military communications.

4. How do you see the contribution of a Business Development Manager to EID’s future?

The entire EID team contributes to success and future projection of EID. Business Development Managers, being part of the team, are at the responsible for being the face of the business, acting as a liaison between the company and new businesses, always looking for new solutions. By maintaining a posture of innovation, trust, and prestige that the EID brand holds, we will continue to move forward to a prosperous future.
