EID, a Portuguese company specialising in the development of advanced C4i communication systems for defence, is set to expand its facilities by 50 per cent and increase its workforce by 35 per cent, in order to ensure the responsiveness required by the current geostrategic context in the defence sector, both at national and European level.
The growth plan is currently underway and is expected to be completed within one year; it is further proof that Portugal’s defence industry can act as a strategic partner for Europe, within the framework of European projects aimed at increasing defence investment. Put another way, the national economy can benefit from the current European vision for the rearmament of Europe, thanks to companies such as EID, which develop and manufacture their products and solutions in Portugal.
For Martin Bennet, CEO of EID, this growth is “a reflection of the trust our partners and customers place in the work carried out by EID, which is internationally recognised as being among the most advanced and secure, both in terms of software and hardware. To meet increasingly demanding expectations, we have drawn up a plan to strengthen our teams and facilities with a view to ensuring greater capacity, more innovation and our usual excellence in delivering solutions.”
EID thus continues to consolidate its position in the sector, focusing on sustainable growth, valuing its staff and investing in infrastructure that supports its ambitions for the future.
