EID is one of the leading high-tech industries in Portugal that works mainly for the Defence sector. With a proven record and solid know-how in the fields of electronics and communications designs, manufactures, supplies and supports advanced, high-performance solutions. The Company has an extensive history in this area and has an extensive international customer base.

EID designs and supplies hardware and software solutions, producing and integrating communications and information equipment and systems, with a special focus on the Defense market and holding internationally recognized skills in the field of military communications.

The solutions developed cover diverse areas such as naval communications, tactical communications covering vehicles and individual users, radios, military messaging, etc. The continuously evolving technological context of our products is quite diversified, comprising in-house development and production of embedded distributed systems including software and hardware, web based centralized management, voice and data communication protocols, mobile terminals, public key cryptography, secure cross-domain network solutions, etc.

We are looking for a senior and junior profile.

YOUR ROLE

  • Analyze customer needs and develop a set of system requirements
  • Determine how existing systems might meet emerging requirements
  • Troubleshooting, diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and other system problems

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Telecommunications or related
  • Good understanding of radio and digital communications systems
  • The ability to troubleshoot complex issues, breaking problems down into component parts to identify and diagnose root causes
  • Experience in creating both high and low level design documentation
  • Good expression skills in Portuguese and English, spoken and written

SENIOR ROLE:

  • An operational and technical knowledge of designing and managing computer systems in a virtual environment and in an hyperconverged infrastructure context
  • Network specific certifications such as CCNA or equivalent experience
  • Advanced routing & switching knowledge: Have the ability to create network architecture designs; Hands on configuration experience of Firewalls, Routers and Switches; Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, VRRP, IPSEC, VLAN

YOUR ROLE

  • Have detailed knowledge of the EID products for which they are responsible, as well as their accessories: their constitution, functionalities and capabilities;
  • Acquire knowledge of the competition for EID products and the markets in which they operate;
  • Define the roadmap for the products for which they are responsible: development of variants and evolutions of existing products and new product lines and associated costs;
  • Monitor product performance metrics taking into account feedback from customers and After Sales in order to propose continuous improvements.
  • Proposing the definition of product marketing options (configuration to be made available, sale of SW licences, manuals, etc).
  • Leading the preparation of new product specifications;
  • Analysing the life cycle and obsolescence of products and proposing end of life and logistical support;
  • Supporting Solutions Engineering in preparing proposals and budgeting;
  • Collaborating with the Sales area in presenting products and solutions and marketing them
  • Working together with the design, conception, marketing and sales teams to ensure that they are aligned with the product vision.
  • Supporting Project Managers in contracts for the supply of Products, Systems and Accessories.

OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS JOB:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics and Computer Engineering, Communications/Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Defence sector products, preferably communications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in innovation methodologies.
  • Critical and strategic thinking
