Foundation of EID
EID was established on 8th of June 1983, and was the first R&D company ever created in Portugal, under the sponsorship of the Portuguese government.
This new company was built around a team of skilled, young electronics and telecommunications engineers. The early work of these pioneers proved instrumental in developing the enduring and valued relationship with the Portuguese Armed Forces enjoyed today.

Developed to equip the Portuguese Army allowing its use by dismounted forces and also in all types of vehicles, whether light or heavy with wheels or tracks.

Launch of BRASS
The Broadcast, Ship-Shore and Maritime Rear Link System, or BRASS, is widely implemented in NATO Nations to provide naval forces with strategic radio communications and other services. The system connects national shore stations in order to cover different areas, allowing NATO to satisfy its need for a complete naval radio communications infrastructure.
