EID proudly participated in the latest edition of the AED Days, once again joining one of the leading international events dedicated to the Aerospace, Space and Defence sectors. Bringing together industry leaders, institutional representatives, armed forces, technology providers and key stakeholders, the event continues to serve as an important platform for dialogue, collaboration and strategic reflection across the defence ecosystem.

A key highlight of EID’s participation was the contribution of Nuno Cordeiro, who took part as speaker on 28 May in the panel:
“From Industrial Integration to Operational Readiness – Innovation, Supply Chain Resilience and Operational Lessons”
The discussion explored the growing challenges of delivering effective and resilient defence capabilities in an increasingly complex geopolitical and technological environment, focusing on topics such as industrial integration, supply chain resilience, innovation and operational preparedness.
During the panel, Nuno shared EID’s perspective on one of the most pressing challenges facing defence technology providers: ensuring the successful integration of systems across multiple platforms and prime contractors while maintaining reliability, interoperability and long-term sustainability.
“In defence, we are not only developing prototypes: we are delivering solutions that must remain operational, be sustained over time and continue to perform in mission-critical environments,” said Nuno. “The challenge is not only speed of delivery, but ensuring those systems evolve, remain secure and continue to meet operational requirements over time.”
Addressing the role of standards and interoperability, Nuno also highlighted the importance of aligning solutions with NATO standards, ensuring seamless integration into broader defence ecosystems and compatibility with prime contractors’ operational frameworks.
“Standards are fundamental because they define the framework for interoperability,” he explained. “But compliance alone is not enough – systems must prove themselves in real operational environments. At EID, we ensure that what we design is not only technically compliant, but operationally effective.”
Cybersecurity was also identified as a critical priority, reflecting the increasingly interconnected nature of defence systems and the need to continuously adapt to emerging technological trends and threats.
Reflecting on the challenges and advantages of collaborating with multiple prime contractors, Nuno underlined EID’s agility and ability to adapt to different standards, processes and integration requirements.
“Every prime contractor has its own ways of working, standards and processes. This requires flexibility and highly agile teams capable of adapting quickly while maintaining performance and quality. That adaptability is one of EID’s strengths,” he noted.
