RIU and DIU Multiplexers
When the reduction of the ship’s cabling is at stake, Radio Interface Unit (RIU) and Data Interface Unit (DIU) Multiplexers shall be used (see diagram below). The units also enable a high degree of communications equipment integration and improve immunity to electromagnetic interference and crosstalk. These compact multiplexers cope with the constraints associated to the various onboard communications equipment (up to 8 per unit) and multiplex them into 2 Mbps interfaces.
The RIU provides audio, Link11/22, Vinson, data and remote control interfaces, while the DIU provides synchronous / asynchronous data interfaces. The use of RIU and DIU Multiplexers is a true and real advantage for all interested partners, that is, the system integrator, the building shipyard and, above all, the final customer.
