The compact Tactical Wireless Headset system ensures full duplex and high quality audio link between the soldier deployed on the field and the communications equipment integrated on an armoured vehicle, jeep or tent. The system is compatible with a large variety of headsets and adaptation services are available under request; the system is fully compatible with the ICC-201 IP Intercom system, ICC-251 Compact Digital Intercom System and the PRC-525 Combat Net Radio. Two units are available, the Central Wireless Unit (Master) and the Headset Wireless Unit (Slave). The first connects in place of the standard wired helmet/headset to the communications equipment. The second unit is a portable battery operated headset that ensures reliable and seamless connection to the communications equipment and, at the same time, the soldier mobility up to 300m. The concept of the Wireless Headset system is optimized for wireless transmission of full duplex high-quality audio voice. It operates on the 2.4GHz ISM band (not Bluetooth) using a bandwidth-efficient modulation format. The excellent robustness and co-existence is achieved using adaptative frequency hopping, Forward Error Correction, Buffering, Retransmission and Error Concealment techniques. To enable a full featured integration with vehicular intercom systems, the TWH-101 supports Internal Keying and PTT signalling over the air; the first is used to communicate to the vehicle members and the second to communicate over the radio equipments installed inside the vehicle.
