News : EID supplies Portuguese BRASS

On the 25th of February, EID signed the contract for the supply of the BRASS (Broadcast And Ship Shore) system with the Portuguese Ministry of Defense.
The contract encompasses the modernization of the Portuguese Navy shore communication stations, located in the Lisbon area and in Azores. Such stations, responsible for the communications between shore and ships, are shared with NATO, which means that system to be supplied will be integrated with its NATO equivalent.
The BRASS is intended to provide message communications between shore and ships at sea, and vice-versa. EID scope of supply includes, besides the military messaging software, HF radio equipment, antennae, switches, transmission devices and an embedded management and control software package.
This important contract will allow EID to take advantage of all its experience in military messaging, command and control of communications and radio communications. It is also, in fact, another opportunity for building together with the Portuguese Navy a system that will become for sure a reference in the international market, as it is the case of other joint successes like ICCS – Integrated Communication and Control System for warships and Military Messaging Systems.
